How to Replace A Piece of Content

Replacing a piece of uploaded content.

If an image file has been incorrectly uploaded or has been identified as being outside of NowSignage's recommended dimension sizes, it is important to rectify the issue to ensure optimal display quality and performance.

Images that do not meet the specified dimensions may cause your device to fall into 'offline mode'

To address this, please follow the steps outlined below to delete the problematic content file and replace it with a correctly sized image.

How to Determine if a Content File Exceeds Recommended Dimensions:

In your NowSignage Dashboard:

  • Click the 'Content' option from the left menu options.
  • In the Search bar field, enter the file name of the content.
  • Click the File name to open up the Image to view the image Dimension properties. (see screenshot below)

How to Replace the Image File:

    In your NowSignage dashboard

    • Go into your content library (by clicking into the Content tab) and find the image or video you wish to replace.

    • Click the 'edit' pencil icon on the content item to open the up the Edit Image Asset screen.

Once the file is uploaded, allow it to complete the process (you will see a progress bar indicating the upload status). Afterward, click on 'update asset' to finalise the replacement.

This action will automatically distribute the updated image or video to all screens currently displaying the content, ensuring that the playlist is refreshed seamlessly.

Important: Before replacing a content asset, ensure it is correctly compressed, and meets our Recommended Dimension sizes

Failure to follow this step may cause issues displaying your content.
