Gapless Playback for Seamless Signage on Android devices
Gapless playback is a key feature for delivering a professional and seamless digital signage experience. While NowSignage supports this feature, please be aware that gapless playback performance can vary depending on the Android device in use. This is due to differences in processing power and operating system versions.
Device Compatibility

Gapless playback is supported on devices running Android 9 (Pie) and above, based on our internal testing. However, not all devices may be supported.

Devices running below Android 9 may not support gapless playback reliably. We recommend testing and verifying performance on such devices before live deployment.

Gapless Image Transitions:

Gapless transitions between images are supported only after the first loop of the playlist.

During the initial cycle, a black screen will appear briefly between image transitions.

From the second cycle onwards, transitions should be gapless.

Ensure that all images:

Are within the supported resolution of the device.

Are not oversized, as excessively large images may lead to loading delays or result in black screen transitions.

Video Playback

Gapless video playback is not supported in these versions.

A brief black screen (a few milliseconds) will appear between videos during transitions.
App Version 5.1.03 and Above
Gapless Video Playback

This version offers full gapless video playback, eliminating the black screen during video transitions.

If black screens persist:

Check that the device is running Android 9 or higher.
