Our YouTube integration goes beyond just regular videos; you can also access any live stream available on YouTube! With NowSignage, you have complete access to YouTube's extensive library of live content, allowing you to showcase everything from breaking news to live sports events.
Steps to add a YouTube Stream:
- Click into the 'Playlists' tab on the left navigation menu.
- Click into the 'Add to playlist' dropdown menu and select 'Other Apps' from the list
- To add YouTube to your playlist, simple click the [+ Add button]
Once you make your selection, the YouTube stream settings menu will appear, providing you with options to customise and manage your stream effectively.
How to locate the YouTube stream URL:
- In YouTube - Search for the video you would like to stream.
Once the video loads, locate the 'Share' button to access the sharing options.
- Click the 'Copy' button the copy the URL
- Paste this into the 'External URL' box in NowSignage.

Optional - If the YouTube video has available subtitles click the captions tick box to enable these. (This feature is available on Android v3.0.2+ and all other app builds v0.6.0+)
Captions are not currently compatible with the BrightSign build of the NowSignage app.
Please note - The duration setting does not automatically adjust to match the video's length; You must enter this information manually. For instance, if the YouTube video is 3 minutes long, you should input the precise duration in seconds (180 seconds) to ensure the video plays in its entirety.
- Once you have finalised your selections, click 'Add to playlist' to include the video stream.
Please note: The video stream will not play in the screen preview window, and will display with the YouTube play button displaying. - Please use the live screen to view.
