Gapless playback allows content to transition between media assets without a visible interruption between items in a playlist.
Support for gapless playback on LG displays depends on the version of LG webOS running on the device.
Compatibility Requirements
- LG webOS versions below 6.0: Gapless playback is not supported.
- LG webOS 6.0 and above: Gapless playback is supported when running NowSignage app version 5.3.20 or above. Support varies depending on the content combination.

Important Information
LG webOS 6.0 or above is required for gapless playback.
Displays running earlier versions of LG webOS do not support this feature.
Check the display's webOS version before deployment if gapless playback is a requirement.

Important Considerations
Although LG webOS 6.0 and above supports gapless playback, performance varies depending on the content transition.
Image-to-image transitions are supported when the minimum webOS and NowSignage app version requirements are met. Video-to-video transitions generally work but may occasionally fail. Mixed image and video transitions are less consistent.
Recommendation: If reliable gapless playback is a requirement, verify the display's webOS version, NowSignage app version and intended content transitions before deployment. Mixed-content and video-to-video playback should be tested on the target hardware rather than assumed to work consistently.
